Nice two days in Zurich

Very nice hotel, easy to arrive by feet to the city centre. Room was spacious , clean and comfortable. Only thing that went wrong was that our key didn’t work the second day when we arrived back to the hotel even though we booked for two nights. Luckily reception was still open to reactivate the key. All in all good experience.

In many ways, a typical small European hotel with teeny tiny elevators and narrow winding stairs from one floor to the next. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is served on the lower level and should be enough to satisfy most any traveler. The hotel is themed with cows and cow-items: cow bells, murals on the ceiling. The parking area is quite small, but it's an easy walk from one of the main tram lines.

Decent but overpriced hotel close to city center – a few disappointments.

We spent our final night in Switzerland at the Swiss Night. It is located on a little side street in a suburb on the east side of the river. It is about a 10-min walk to the river and the city center, so quite a good location for exploring central Zurich. There is a small parking lot out front, however we were extremely disappointed that they made us pay an additional 25CHF to park our car at their premises. This amounts to nothing more than price gouging your valued guests – very unwelcome! Check-in was fast and easy and the reception staff were all friendly and helpful. Our room was nice, clean and comfortable, but a little on the small side. It unfortunately smelled of cigarette smoke even though it was supposedly a non-smoking room. The room was tidy and very well-organized, with coffee station and computer desk. The Wifi worked great but the TV lacked any English language programming. We were told on check-in that the fitness center was open 24/7, however when we went down for a morning workout at 5:30am before our trip to the airport, we found the doors all locked and no one at reception until 6:30am - another big disappointment about this place. Overall we had a decent stay, however we were a bit disappointed with the overall service. We felt it was very, very over priced, probably double what it should be. We’d definitely look for somewhere else to stay next time in Zurich and can’t really recommend this place, especially with the high price.

Worst Hotel Ever!!! Do Not Book!! Go anywhere else!

The hotel falsely advertises rooms with A/C, but the A/C units do not work. We waited 3 hours for Dominque (the receptionist) to attempt to repair our A/C unit in room 226. When he couldn’t repair it he tried relocating us into a different room. I watched Dominque attempt to repair the A/C unit in the 2nd room and not once would the A/C unit turn on. I saw two other customers in the lobby that were complaining to Dominique about the same A/C problems in their rooms. Dominique was doing the best he could, but if the owner is a slumlord then there is nothing the hotel staff can do to magically make the A/C units working again. I called the hotel several times asking for an update, and the hotel receptionist I spoke with advised that the owner offered us a 20% partial refund. We didn’t even spend s the night in the hotel. We stayed in the room—sweating in the summer heat—for a total of 3 hours while their staff tried to repair the A/C unit. We ended up leaving that night and staying at another hotel instead, yet the slumlord hotel owner expects their guest to pay 80% of the hotel bill. I should have read the other Google reviews before booking. Do Not Stay At This Hotel. The owner is a cheap slumlord .

Solid Choice, Few Mins from Old Town

5/5

As has been mentioned before, this is a cute cow/milk themed small-ish hotel about 10-15 mins walk from the old town. It can be reached from either Kunsthaus or Hottingerplatz tram stops, approaching it from either direction. It's on a residential street of lovely old villas (in fact it's a converted villa), so very quiet. We stayed in a corner room on the ground floor and it was a very spacious room with a walk-in shower. A little dingy in the early morning, but flooded with sunlight on our return in the afternoon. Comfy beds, two chairs and a safe, fridge and kettle in the room - the best equipped out of three hotels we stayed in on our trip. Tasty breakfast - not massive, but all good quality. Be aware that the breakfast room is in the old cellar of the hotel, and accessed down some old stone steps. This may not be a good choice for the less mobile. Loved the decoration in the hotel - so pretty - and would recommend it as a good affordable choice if being right in the middle of town is not that important to you.
